Amir Mohamed

The artist Amir Mohamed is an Egyptian artist who focuses mainly on rebranding and logos for new companies. The logos are slick and detailed just how I would like to recreate my own. The logo designs he has created are innovative and imaginative, something which I would like to incorporate. The use of colours is something that is strong in all of these designers, and Amir equally follows this use of colour throughout his work with logos.

Just Eat – Website

The reason why I have chosen to analyse ‘Just Eat’ is because I want my website to have a postcode finder bar. Although ‘Just Eat’ works a little different, I still want to create a postcode finder bar where the user can input their postcode. Through ‘Just Eat’ the customer can the refine the takeaways to specific choices, this step on my website is where the user will be able to refine mileage, local shops and much more. The refine option for the user makes their search a lot more accurate, this also makes the website more favourable for most users. I also like the basic design of ‘Just Eat’ and how everything is concentrated on the postcode finder bar as soon as the user opens up the website.

Vyacheslav Dronov

Vyacheslav Dronov is Russian web designer; their work is always precise and visually effective. Dronov designs are everything I imagined how my website would appear. I love the simple black background on this specific web design, followed by complementary white roses. The use of boxes on this web design is how I wish mine to look, apart from mine will be interactive for the audience. His work is clean and professional something that I wish to portray through my own work.

He has also created a website for ‘Wild Hogs’ which is a Russian restaurant, this website is also appealing and thought-provoking to analyse, in terms of my own work. The use of colours in various dishes is used in contrast with the black slate background similar to the previous G’nosh website shown above.

Stefan Sagmeister

Stefan Sagmeister’s work was mentioned to me during a workshop with Clive. His work is inspiring to my project and to me because his work is ultimately bold and expressive. I want my website to be simplistic and easy to read, and I feel his work does this. A lot of his work symbolises minimalism and this is how I want my website to be, his work uses a range of contrasting colours to really make his audience fascinated. Similar to the G’nosh website shown on the previous page, the use of colour in the food against a black background is obvious.

Chosen Fonts

After some thought into the style and overall look of my website I found that the type of font would also be relevant to the overall look of my website. I browsed many different ideas and styles; I found that blocky font would work best for titles and the homepage. Though I also wanted another font that is going to be slightly easier on the eye and not uppercase. I did browse Pinterest (https://uk.pinterest.com/sharntalbott/fonts-for-website/) for my initial ideas but decided to use Adobe’s Typekit to actually source my fonts.

The font I have decided to use for my websites ‘headings’ is Bebas Neue. I love this font as it stands out as it is bold, but still has curve to it. Furthermore I decided on the font Kelper Std Semicondensed Display, the reason for choosing this particular font is because I think it appears professional but informal.
