The final step allows you to see a schedule and what day you should have what meal. It will give a recipe for that meal and tell you where to buy the ingredients. You will also be able to print or screenshot a version of that weeks shopping list including all of the ingredients that you’ll need to make the meals for that week. The reason why I have included a schedule also is because many parents may feel frustrated that they pay for fresh food and may only use it once before it unfortunately goes by its sell by date. The schedule allows the parent to cook in an efficient way so they do not waste valuable food. For example, Spaghetti Bolognese, Shepherds pie and Lasagne keep the main ingredient (mince meat) but have different variables. These will be on consecutive days Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday so the parent could cook in bulk the main ingredient (which is mince meat in this case) on the Monday and use the left over mince on Tuesday and Wednesday. This ensures that the parent is cooking in the most efficient and least time-consuming way, see below for example:
Fourth Step
You can then go onto select 7 of your families favourite meals from a range of meals already preloaded onto the website. The website will also give you the option to create your own meal, you will need to select all of the ingredients and the website will find where to get these the cheapest.
Third Step
Thirdly the website will request how much money you are willing to spend on food that week, this may change depending on your income or time of the year. But this will also need to be realistic for the amount of people you are feeding that week. So going off the previous information you gave to the website it will give you a minimum amount of money you can spend on your families weekly shop. Your budget should not be below this.
Second Step
The second step of the website allows you to assign how many people you are feeding that week. This may vary for some families but normally this would stay the same for many. This needs to be correct so the website can calculate the portion sizes per person, depending on the amount of people you are feeding that week will depend on how much food you’ll need to buy.
First Step
The way that my website works is it searches for all the mainstream supermarkets for example, Tesco, Morrison’s, Sainsbury’s, Marks and Spencer’s, Aldi and Lidl. It allows you to refine the shops you want to shop at and also lets you to put in a mile radius of where you are willing to travel. This is important to many parents doing their weekly shop, as they may only want to shop in a selected few shops, as it can cost more travelling to a range of different shops.
