Backgrounds for my website

I found some stock images on Pinterest which could be used as the background of my website. I wanted two different types of backgrounds so after developing my ideas and testing, which one will work best, I can have a choice between the two backgrounds. I looked into bright polygon textured wallpapers and also the grainy wall and wood textures. I found that the website ‘Subtle patterns’ and ‘Graphic Burger’ were useful to gain extra ideas for the background of my website. These were the ones I downloaded:

Prototypes

Secondly I decided to look into prototypes (https://uk.pinterest.com/sharntalbott/website-styles-prototypes/ ) which included different styles of websites. I found superb website designs and selected some easier designs that would be appropiate. I particularly liked this one which was created for a recipe website. I think the font goes well and the use of bright colours for the foods on the slate textured background really stood out to me.

Although I did feel this design was slightly clumsy and could be confusing for my target audience. I decided to look into website designs which followed a ‘block’ style. I found the concept of the  the blocks being interactive, which can take the user through to the next page, this would be the easiest most efficient way to display my website. The website will still be visually pleasing to the eye.
